Bright Lights on Tbirds Roster

The Tbirds lost two games to the Austin Toros on December 18 and 19, 2008. The first was a day game, also the School House Jam, and was lost in overtime. The Tbirds worked hard and held the lead until the last few second of the game, where the Toros hit a three-pointer to tie it 109-109. This brought the game to overtime, which ended in the Tbirds losing 121-127. On December 19, 2008, the Tbirds help the lead for most of the game, but again lost to the Toros 91-94 in the final seconds.

Both games had great crowds cheering their Tbirds onto hopeful victories. However filled the Tingley Coliseum has been, the team would love to sell-out each and every game. Tickets can be bought by calling the Tbirds office 505-265-DUNK (3865) or by going online to www.abqtbirds.com.

It should be pointed out that the Tbirds players are doing very well on the overall NBA D-League leader board. Some examples of how good these ballers are, are listed below.
1. Points Scored – Will Conroy, #10, ranked #1 averaging 24.2 ppg
2. Free Throws Made – Will Conroy, #10, ranked #3 averaging 6.7 ppg
3. Steals – Will Conroy and David Noel, #10 AND #34, are tied with a ranking of #3 averaging 2.7 spg
4. Assists – Will Conroy, #10, ranked #4 averaging 7.2 apg
5. Total Rebounds – David Monds, #23, ranked #5 averaging 10.4 rpg

There are also some great highlights from the last couple games.
DECEMBER 19, 2008
1. Being that it is the “Season of Cheering and Giving”, Tbird David Noel was the leading scorer with 24 points,
2. Continuing to dominate with rebounds David Monds had 9, and
3. Keith McLeod, one of the newest Tbirds, had 10 assists.
DECEMBER 18, 2008
1. Again, David Noel was the leading scorer with 35 points,
2. Will Conroy had 12 assists, and
3. Corey Underwood had 8 rebounds.

Interestingly, Tbird players from these games scored 13 points or more. On December 18, 2008, Jasper Johnson, Corey Underwood, Keith McLeod, Will Conroy and David Noel scored 13, 14, 15, 21 and 35 points respectively. And on December 19, 2008, David Monds, Corey Underwood, Will Conroy and David Noel scored 10, 17, 21 and 24 points respectively.

There are great things to see during a Tbirds game. Come see them. I’ll be there, you should too!
